Decorah Lutheran Church has a number of Church Council and Committees that hold our congregation together. If you have an interest in being on a committee, please contact the church office.
The Adult Choir provides special music throughout the year and enhances the worship experience. They rehearse Wednesdays from 5:15-6:00pm from Sept-May. For more information contact the church office.
Prayer Shawl Ministry meets the first Tuesday of each month from 1-2:30pm in the Fellowship room at DLC. Prayer shawls are either knit or crochet. While doing the needlework, prayers are said at the beginning and end of the project. A short prayer is said with each new row by the maker of the shawl and given to those who are in need of prayer.
All levels of talent are welcome and we can teach you how to knit or crochet! You can also help by donating. Each shawl takes 3 skeins of yarn (in the same color and manufacturer). Just think how wonderful a gift it would be, to literally be wrapped in the prayers of our community!
Decorah Lutheran Church Women (DLCW) provides opportunities for fellowship, learning, and service. As a community of women created in the image of God, Called to discipleship in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our calling, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, society and the world.
DLCW Members become part of a "circle". Through the circles, you, as a church member, may be called to assist by providing food or working for coffee hours and other church related functions.
"Do-Day" is a quilting ministry that meets throughout the year to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief and local organizations. Anyone interested in helping quilt OR donating materials is welcome. Quilt tops/middles (60''x80'') and backs (64''x84'') are always welcome, as are sheets in good condition and layette items. Please see the DLC calendar for the "Do-Day" schedule.
